As we wrap up Heaven Sent Gaming’s 10th Anniversary, we’re already hard at work, God willing, going into our next 10 years. The fourth quarter of 2016 had Heaven Sent Gaming being featured on the BBC and KRQE. While it was recorded in Q3, a Persian-language documentary for the British Broadcasting Corporation, about voters in the 2016 election along Route 66, since Mario is a Republican and Isabel is a Democrat, featured Heaven Sent Gaming’s married cofounders in the segment about Albuquerque. And, all of Heaven Sent Gaming’s current staff was featured on local CBS-affiliate KRQE, discussing our team’s 10th Anniversary and future publications.
Earlier last year we ran a poll, by far, the most requested thing our fans wanted was a pin-up calendar of Heaven Sent Gaming’s lady characters. We initially promised this as a pin-up calendar, we’ve instead decided to release these images as monthly cover images for the home page for our website; these art pieces are created by our artist Isabel Ruiz Lucero. Other popular picks from the poll were a more complete glossary of our publications, a complete Heaven Sent Gaming compilation book, more artwork, a talk show, and even a return to our let’s plays video series’. We’re hard at work on our glossary as well as the compilation book, we’ve already begun to a new talk show program called a Heaven Sent Gaming broadcast, and we’re looking into rebooting our let’s plays.
We’ve retained reader retention for the fourth quarter of 2016, and we’ve managed to support our audience size. The video game we are developing is still on track to release in 2017, and we are continuing to develop the game for mobile devices and Nintendo platforms. Our Japanese language comic サワデ, will be launching hopefully this quarter. This comic is a relaunch of Thad’s World Destruction, told from the perspective of the Japanese immigrant character Art.
We’re grateful to God for our fans, and the wellspring of ideas that Heaven Sent Gaming has been able to tap into. We love being able to talk with the press about our entertainment team, our members, and our creations. But we would like to clear up a few misconceptions, we’re indeed a Christian arts/entertainment publication but we are not a “faith-based” or “right-wing” publication, our team’s creations are not here to evangelize or to push agendas; editor-in-chief Jason Waggoner is an Independent voter and atheist, our President/Artist Isabel Ruiz Lucero is a Democrat and Seventh-Day Adventist, and CEO/Designer Mario J. Lucero is a Republican and a nondenominational Christian raised Catholic. Our fictional universe is very much grounded in Christian and Jesus-centered themes, as our founders and primary creators Mario and Isabel are heartfelt followers of Jesus Christ. This symbolism, messaging, imagery, and overall feeling in the Heaven Sent Gaming universe is very much authentically Abrahamic and Judeo-Christian, and is similar to the use of Thor and Norse mythology in Marvel. Another source of inspiration for us is New Mexico and Japan related imagery, because these places are also inspiration places for our work.
Last year we were forced to cut our team’s size back substantially, due in part to recent private revelations revolving around the Wikipedia situation in 2014, the situation caused them chagrin after they revealed the information, we harbor no hard feelings and would welcome them back into the team with no questions asked. Thirst, a collaborative pen-and-paper RP game with former Our Own Little Coup member, Devin Torkavian, is on hiatus due to her having apprehensions at Mario‘s support of Donald Trump during the 2016 election. We support each of their rights to freedom of speech, and everyone at Heaven Sent Gaming hopes that Devin will return to work on the project. But, until then, Thirst is on Hiatus and another tabletop title will be developed by Mario J. Lucero and Jason Waggoner.
Heaven Sent Gaming is still looking into getting sponsors, but we will not be sacrificing our team’s artistic freedom to do so. If you or your business would like to sponsor us, or if you have suggestions on companies you’d like us to work with, feel free contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 1(505)336-0474. Thank you and God bless.
